Condoleezza Rice Print (12x16)
Condoleezza Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State and was the first female African-American to serve in that position. She was also the second African American after Colin Powell to hold that position. While this is not the culmination of her service it is what made me add her to my portrait series. We tend to overlook certain milestones in history due to an individual's political affiliation or her gender. In this case, the intellect and education of Condi far exceed the reasons we should not ignore her. She is a strong black woman that achieved a historic significance for not only the position she held but also her accomplishments while serving. I am proud to be the artist to recognize that and immortalize her in my portrait series.
